Online 4-, 5-, or 6-String Electric Bass Building Course September 2, 2001
The Musical Instrument Makers Forum (www.mimf.com), in
association with Moll Custom Instruments (www.mollinst.com),
announced their next interactive online instrument-making course: Building
an Electric Bass. The 16-week course will be taught by master luthier
Bill Moll, and will start on February 4th, 2002, and run through May
26th, 2002. Students will have their choice of building a fretted or
fretless 4-, 5-, or 6-string solid-body electric bass. Some prior
woodworking experience is recommended.
There will be a fee charged for
participation, and all enrolled students will receive a set of full-size
plans. Lessons will be posted on the MIMForum on a weekly basis, and
students will use the Forum to ask whatever questions come up as they
build. More information, inlcuding pictures of bass guitars made by
students in Bill Moll's first bass-building course, can be found at
www.mimf.com/bass.htm.
The Musical Instrument Makers Forum is an interactive forum devoted entirely to the discussion of
musical instrument construction, design and repair; welcoming builders
of all instruments at every skill level from expert to wannabe.
