Fairlight Supports VST Format with New Plug-Ins Manager

September 23, 2001In a move that extends the functionality and versatility
of Fairlight digital audio production systems to new levels, the company announced the
incorporation of VST Plug-ins into its Fairlight Plug-ins Manager.
Now, the Fairlight user base
worldwide will be able to easily access and safely avail of a wide variety of audio production tools
including time stretching, pitch shifting and reverbs among hundreds of other effects.
According to Per Larsen, COO, Steinberg Media Technologies AG, Fairlight now boasts more plug-ins
than any other professional workstation available today. "Fairlight has a preeminent record of
openness and cooperation with other manufacturers in its drive to make its customers the best
equipped in the market," Larsen said today. "Today's announcement is a tremendous affirmation
of corroboration among manufacturers and it's an equally strong endorsement of the VST
developer forum."
Effective immediately, a wide selection of VST plug-ins may be loaded into Fairlight's recently
introduced Plug-Ins Manager, an independent CPU that provides all of the plug-in functionality yet
sidesteps the system integrity and reliability issues traditionally associated with third-party
software integration. This announcement, says Fairlight ESP VP of Marketing, Karl Seglins, makes Fairlight an even
more compelling choice in digital audio production systems.
