Price Cut on EZbus and new Rebate Program Offered August 8, 2002
In a series of moves designed to make the
EZbus available to an even wider audience, Event Electronics announced
two programs that make the final cost of the unit substantially lower than
before. The first program implements a new suggested list price of $749-a
full $100 lower than the original price. The second program, dubbed Summer
Rebate Madness, offers customers a $150 factory-direct rebate when they
purchase both an EZbus and the companion EZ8 Optical Audio Interface.
Together, these programs allow end-users to assemble a
multitrack computer audio recording system for an estimated street price of
only $599.
The EZbus suggested list price reduction is effective immediately. The
Summer Rebate Madness program runs until September 15th, 2002. Users who purchase the EZbus / EZ8 combo
can download the rebate form from Event's Web site, www.event1.com; Rebate checks will be mailed directly to the
customer from Event.
The EZbus is a combination computer audio recording interface, software
control surface, and stand-alone digital mixer. The unit provides
24-bit/96kHz audio and control over a variety of popular music
software applications. When
the EZbus is paired with the EZ8 Optical Audio Interface, a PCI card with
ADAT lightpipe I/O, the number of discrete tracks users can simultaneously
record and play back with their computers is greatly expanded. Connections
between the EZbus and the EZ8 are made entirely in the digital domain via
fiber optic cables, so the sonic integrity-i.e., S/N ratio, dynamic range,
and THD+n-of the source signals are precisely maintained. The EZ8 is also
ideally suited for use with stand-alone A/D converters, digital mixers, and
other lightpipe-equipped devices.
The EZbus and EZ8 are part of a suite of three audio devices, collectively
known as the EZbus Audio System Plus, comprising the EZbus, the EZ8, and the
EMP-8 Eight-Channel Digital Microphone Preamplifier. The system provides
computer-based recording musicians with a wide range of high-quality analog
and digital I/O, comprehensive software control over music applications and
MIDI devices, and versatile audio mixing, processing, and routing
capabilities.
