Silhouette Bass Signed by The Eagles up for Auction December 13, 2002
An Ernie Ball Music Man Silhouette
bass guitar, signed by several members of the legendary classic rock band
the Eagles, is being offered by Ernie Ball on eBay,
ending December 16. The Eagles currently use Ernie Ball strings and Don
Henley is a fan of the Silhouette Bass. Along with Henley, other members of
the band signing the Silhouette up for auction include Joe Walsh, Glen Frey
and Timothy B. Schmitt.
Bass features include:
- Maple neck
- 2-way rotary series/parallel selector, 5-way lever pickup selector, (10 pickup combinations)
- 2 DiMarzio custom wound split humbucking pickups
- An SKB hard-shell case is also included
100% of the auction proceeds benefit the Casey Lee Ball Foundation. This
non-profit organization works for the advancement of pediatric kidney
research. Casey Lee Ball, third son of Sterling Ball, was diagnosed with
polycystic kidney disease at age two. At age five, while Casey and Sterling
were recuperating from kidney transplant surgery, they decided to create the
Casey Lee Ball Foundation. As a result of their tireless efforts over the
last six years, several new medicines have made it to market in record time
and are helping to reduce the side effects of kidney transplant medications.
