Three Workshops on Inlay Techniques Offers by MIMF July 9, 2002
The Musical Instrument Makers Forum announces its
next online instrument-building course: Inlay Techniques for Musical
Instruments, Sept. 16th 2002 - March 10th 2003. Students will learn how
to inlay their guitar, banjo, mandolin, or other stringed instrument.
This course will be offered as three workshops of 6 or 7 lessons, each
lasting 6 to 8 weeks; and students may sign up for one, two, or all
three.
The workshops will be taught by Amy Hopkins of Stringed
Instrument Repair (www.stringedinstrumentrepairs.com). Bill Moll
of Moll Custom Instruments (mollinst.com), will teach an
independent unit on turning a portrait into an inlay as part of the
Advanced Workshop.
The Basic Workshop will run from Sept. 16th - Oct.
28th, the Intermediate Workshop will run from Nov. 11th - Dec 30th, and
the Advanced Workshop will run from Jan 13th 2003 - March 10th 2003.
The cost is $95 for one workshop, $155 for two workshops, $230 for all
