An original composition contest will be held in conjunction with this event. To participate, an original theremin composition, no longer than five minutes, must be submitted to Moog on CD, cassette or as an MP3 file. All entries must be postmarked not later than June 17,2005. The contest is open to amateur and professional musicians, and will be judged by a panel of distinguished judges including Dr. Wayne Kirby of the UNC-A school of Music, Albert Glinsky, Herb Deutsch and Bob Moog himself. Five winners of the contest will receive free registration to Ether Music 2005, a $395 value and one grand prize winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize at the festival.

Out of town guests will enjoy Asheville's art and music scene as well as the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Several Ether Music events will take place at the Asheville Double Tree, which also serves as the festivals host hotel.
