VG-88 Sonic Preview
All of the samples below were recorded with the same guitar (a Strat copy), using the GK-2AH pickup to feed the VG-88
Clean Strat MP3 (110 KB) |
| The VG-88 comes impressively close to the sound of a "real" Stratocaster |
Fat Les Paul MP3 (127 KB) |
| The VG-88 excelled at producing fat and powerful tones. This sound models a Les Paul-type humbucker through a modern high-gain head. |
12-String MP3 (164 KB) |
| Because the GK-2AH processes each string individually, it can create some cool pitch effects. On the 12-string model, the lower four strings are octave pairs, the upper two are in unison -- just like the real thing. |
Open A MP3 (164 KB) |
| This open tuning sound required no retuning of my guitar. The VG-88 and GK-2AH did all the work for me. |
Nylon String MP3 (137 KB) |
| The VG-88 offers some acoustic guitar-type sounds, including this nylon string model. |
Synth Brass MP3 (137 KB) |
| One of the VG-88's strengths is its ability to go beyond standard guitar fare, as in this nice synth texture. |
Guitar/Synth Layer MP3 (137 KB) |
| You can route your guitar's standard pickups through the VG-88 and combine them with the sounds generated with the GK-2AH to create some interesting layers. |
