Sonic Preview
The DA-78HR's 24-bit resolution helps it sound dynamic and rich. This guitar program was recorded with an Audio-Technica 4047/SV mic feeding a TLA tube preamp, which was patched into the DA78HR's analog Input 1. I used the recorder's internal routing to send that input to four separate tracks for overdubbing. I then mixed internally, outputting a stereo signal with the S/PDIF outs. Not other effects or coloration were added. The DA-78HR's 24-bit resolution may not really translate to MP3, but I found the sound very open, dynamic, and smooth -- quite impressive for the price.
