PITCH PERFECT (v1) An Interactive Intonation Training Program (HyperCard stack) Pitch Perfect is a music training program that provides practice exercises designed to improve intonation acuity. The exercises allow the user to manipulate the intonation of basic chords and excerpts from four-part Bach chorales. Other pieces of the user's choice may also be imported from standard MIDI files. (The MIDI files must be placed in a folder called 'Pieces' to function properly) Problems start with one or more voices (soprano, alto, or tenor) out of tune. The object is to tune the piece by moving one or more of the pitch sliders located in the lower right hand part of the screen. The program provides immediate feedback about the accuracy of all responses. It can also be set up to keep track of cumulative performance data. Pitch Perfect requires a Macintosh computer with a MIDI interface and a polyphonic, MIDI-compatible synthesizer. The stack version requires HyperCard 2.1. The application version runs on its own. The program downloadable from here is a full-featured demo version. It is good for one month after first use. Shareware fee is $20.
