Hog .071b
A digital sound processor for Windows95 and NT

HOG is a simple, file-based utility for performing sound file manipulation. It was not
designed to replace your editing software. It currently only operates on PCM WAV files. It
is not necessarily the final form for the program. Since the utilities are currently unique
to the IBM platform, I though that people might get a kick out of messing with it.

Current Features:
CONVOLUTION: combines the shared frequency spectra of two files by passing one "through"
the other. Includes features to allow for reverb simulation using impulse response files.

EQ MATCHING: alters a file so that it possesses the same average frequency spectrum as
another.

RING MODULATION: ring modulates two files together, a file and an oscillator, or a file and
itself.

DECIMATION: induces digital artifacts through bit reduction, justification, sample rate
reduction.

FREQUENCY EXTRACTION: splits a file into its constituant left, right, in-phase center, and
out-of-phase center components. A model file can specify the frequencies included /
excluded by the extraction.

VOCODER: get that classic vocoder sound by specifying the carrier, modulator, and number
of bands.

Changes for version .071b:
-added Frequency Extraction
-added Vocoder
-put the "P" buttons in the closet and they multiplied! they play the file that they are sitting
next to.
-fixed a window scaling "feature" - old levels in EQ Matcher may not work correctly.
-fixed inconsistency with playback dialog's modality & habit to stick around after errors
