The PanHandler is a Surround Sound Panning and Encoding Plug-in for SAWPlus32, Cool Edit 
Pro, Adobe Premiere and DirectX Applications. It is compatible with home Surround Sound 
decoders (like the type you can purchase at a consumer electronics store). Fundamentally, 
the PanHandler pans and encodes a sound source in Surround Sound. Then when the sound is 
played back on a Surround Sound receiver/decoder playback unit, it is played back exactly 
as it was panned and encoded. This creates a remarkably realistic listening experience. 
Surround soundtracks also create a wider, more enveloping soundfield even when played in 
normal stereo. 

The PanHandler consists of a LCRS 4-way panning system, and surround encoder. It correctly 
simulates LCR panpots with it's built in 4-way panner. Each channel (LCRS) is independently 
panned and sent to the surround encoder.
