Show Report: Frankfurt Musik Messe

Harmony Central welcomes Mats Nermark, a freelance writer for the Swedish magazine FUZZ, to the site as our Senior Swedish Correspondent. As a veteran of the Frankfurt Musik Messe - this was his 24th show - he brings a unique perspective to the world of guitars and amps, and isn't afraid to offer some opinions. This kicks off our Messe guitar coverage; I'll be doing an additional video report on other items of interest. Take it away, Mats! - Craig Anderton, Editor in Chief

Having worked in the musical instrument business for ten years before I started my writing career, I've walked many miles at this show - and I never cease to be amazed at what's shows up in the halls of the Messe. So, here's my report, which is all in good fun - well it was fun for me, and I hope it's fun for you too! (Please note that these opinions are my own, and do not represent the opinion of any of the publications or companies with which I am associated - or any other human being, for that matter. Or any small, furry animals.)

That pretty much wraps it up, but there will be more Frankfurt guitar stuff on Harmony Central soon. Just remember that for every product you have seen here, there were also at least a hundred that were useless, bad, soulless or just plain copies without any real merit whatsoever.

But the best part of the show to me was all the people I met there that had a smile on their faces when they saw me. To all of you, thanks for making me feel welcome. To all the "new" people I met that still managed to smile when I left them, thanks for expanding my horizons! It was indeed a fun show.
